The Department of Curriculum and Instruction (C&I) holds as its central mission the preparation and development of educators at all levels. The department ensures that its professional education programs are based on essential knowledge, established and current research findings, and sound professional practice.

Advising Center
- Students are encouraged to seek advisement from the College of Education Undergraduate Advising Center in CEB 226. Program requirements in university core courses, College of Education core courses, and departmental course requirements are available in the College of Education Undergraduate Advising Center. It is the responsibility of every student to maintain contact with advisors as changes in departmental policies, program or licensure requirements may occur. UNLV students with majors in academic colleges other than education must seek advisement through the College of Education Undergraduate Advising Center to ensure that specific program and course requirements leading to student teaching are met. Students must read the UNLV Undergraduate Catalog for course descriptions to determine the course prerequisites.
Field Experiences
- Elementary and secondary education courses that include a field component as well as the elementary and secondary practicum courses require daytime availability for experiences in the public schools. Students will be expected to arrange their schedules accordingly.
