1. Go to the site and Login.
2. Once you are logged in, type this URL into your web browser:
http://ci.unlv.edu/faculty/yourlastname
Replace "yourlastname" with your real last name.
For the purposes of this video let's say my name is Jane Doe. Since I'm Jane Doe I would type in:
http://ci.unlv.edu/faculty/doe
Take a second to bookmark the site if you wish.
The site that you are looking at is your faculty website visible to everyone on the world wide web.
3. Once you are at your site, you will notice two options towards the upper middle of the page: View and Edit.
4. Clicking on "View" displays the webpage as in a format identical to what a normal site visitor would see.
5. Clicking on "Edit" will bring up a page that you can use to edit your page. Since what I want to do is edit the Jane Doe page, I'm going to click on "Edit".
6. This page is the edit page. On the edit page, you will see the following fields:
For now, do not worry about the Restricted, Input Format, and File attachments options.
7. Under the Title field you should see your name, followed by your highest degree. The text in this field is what appears at the top of the page. Unless you decide to change your name for whatever reason, do not change the text in this field.
8. The body field is where you will be spending most of your time. The body field contains all of the content that appears in the middle of your page. It is powered by a WYSIWYG editor that looks similar to Microsoft Word.
9. Since this page is blank, I will start by typing in some information.
10. Ok I'm done entering some of the information on the site and want to see what it looks like so I'm going to click on the Preview button.
11. Clicking on the preview button will display a small preview of what the site will look like with the changes you made. If you want to continue making editing changes, do so in the body field. If you like what you see, then click on the submit button at the bottom of the page.
12. Your page has now been updated.
13. If you are done making changes, logout of the system.
