Writers from across the country will be participating in the first-ever National Day on Writing, sponsored by the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE). Local galleries will be highlighting a wide array of compositions from citizens in their respective communities. Here in Las Vegas, UNLV’s Dr. Elizabeth Spalding will be serving as curator for What Happens in Vegas, a gallery highlighting the work of various peoples in Las Vegas. Teachers, students, retirees, citizens, and professionals from all walks of life can submit their work to be featured in the National Gallery of Writing. The local gallery website can be found here.

Many different types of writing will be highlighted. Everything from short stories and poems to journal entries and letters, as well as modern technology-oriented mediums, including emails, blogs, YouTube videos, and more will be showcased. If you would like to submit your composition, you can do so here.
