Biography: Jian Wang is an associate professor of teacher education who joined the UNLV faculty in 1998. His research interests include teacher education reform, teacher learning and mentoring, comparative studies of curriculum and practice of teaching and learning to teach. Dr. Wang has published journal articles and book chapters on the topics of teacher mentoring, teaching and teacher change, influences of curriculum and instructional contexts on learning to teach, educational policy, and social foundations in education in the contexts of US, England, and China. He was a middle and high school teacher, educational policy analyst, and researcher for curriculum analysis in the Third International Mathematics and Science Study, and cross-national mentoring project, Learning from Mentors, at the National Center for Research on Teacher Learning. His work has been published in the journals, like Educational Researcher, Review of Education Research, Teachers College Record, Teaching and Teacher Education, Elementary School journal. He also served as guest editor of New England Mathematics Journal.
