| Biography: Meehye Shim is an assistant professor of Social Studies Education in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction. She majored in history and history education in college and later in history of science, social studies education and curriculum and instruction. She received her Ph.D in Curriculum and Instruction from Indiana University at Bloomington. Dr. Shim has taught courses in the areas of social studies methods and graduate courses in global education and in curriculum, pedagogy, and current issues in social studies. Her areas of research interest include integrating historical scholarship into educational practice, exploring effective methods of implementing multicultural education, global education, and STS (science-technology-society) education in teacher education programs and in elementary and secondary classrooms, and world history education. |
