| Biography: Dr. Helen Harper comes to the Dept of C&I, from the University of Western Ontario, where she was an Associate Professor in English Education at the Faculty of Education. Prior to that she finished her Ph.D. at the Ontario Institute of Education, University of Toronto; and, her Masters at the University of Calgary. She was a high school/middle school English/Language Arts teacher in rural central and northern Alberta. Her work focuses on scoiological, political and historical issues of English Studies pedagogy. Much of her work as focused in particular on gender and race. Currently she is co-editing, along with Dr. Thomas Bean, the Journal of Adolescent and Adult Literacy. Dr. Harper is also Book Review Editor of the Canadian and International Education Journal. |
