Biography: Karen Grove is an Assistant Professor in Residence in Educational Technology at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. She teaches both face-to-face and online undergraduate and graduate courses focused on helping teacher education students and classroom teachers learn to use digital tools in their teaching practice. Her research interests include technology integration in teacher preparation and professional development, technology mentoring practice in teacher education, teacher practice with technology, and school district/university partnerships promoting use of digital tools in student learning. Dr. Grove has over fifteen years of teaching experience in elementary grades and gifted education classes in Arizona, Virginia, and North Carolina. She has also worked as a Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) in Instructional Technology with the Clark County School District. She earned her Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Nevada Las Vegas and taught educational technology courses at Purdue University and the University of Louisville prior to joining the UNLV faculty in 2005.

She currently serves as Treasurer of the Special Interest Group for Teacher Education (SIGTE) of the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE). Through involvement with SIGTE, she has networked with colleagues across the country resulting in collaborative presentations at national conferences highlighting successful technology-based K-12/university partnerships that promote effective integration of technology in teacher education and professional development.
