| Biography: Marilyn Sue Ford is an associate professor of education who joined the UNLV faculty in 1984. Her teaching and research interests address elementary mathematics education for preK-8 preservice and inservice teachers. Dr. Ford is an active member in professional mathematics organizations including the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), Research Council for Learning mathematics (RCML), and School Science and Mathematics Association (SSMA). She has chaired a Western Regional conference as well as served on a national program committee and the Instructional Issues Advisory Committee for NCTM. She has served on program committees for RCML and was recently the conference registration chair for SSMA's Centennial Celebration Conference. Dr. Ford has authored and co-authored articles in Arithmetic Teacher, Teaching Children Mathematics, Focus on Learning Problems in Mathematics, Teaching and Computers, The Computing Teacher, The Clearing House, and Science Education, as well as provided educational consultation for school and home software produced by the Learning Company. She is a past recipient of the UNLV/CSUN Faculty Excellence Award for Overall Outstanding Professor of the Year. |
