Faculty Research and Scholarship
The Department's programs are a result of sound research into the field’s best practices. The faculty and are frequent recipients of national grants in recognition of their efforts to successfully apply research to enhance the profession.
The College of Education is host to a number of prestigous academic journals that are edited by C&I faculty.
- Intervention In School & Clinic is edited by C&I's Randall Boone and Kyle Higgins from the Department of Special Education.
- The Journal of Adolescent & Adult Literacy is edited by Thomas Bean and Helen Harper. The first issue appearing under their editorship will appear in September, 2008.
- The Journal of Children's Literature is edited by Cyndi Giorgis and April Bedford.
- Recently the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE) announced that the Journal of Teacher Education will move to UNLV at the expiration of the current editorship at the University of Colorado.
- Kent Crippen is the Associate Editor of the Journal of Science Education Technology.
