To receive an endorsement to teach computer programming or computer science a person must have a valid elementary, middle school/ junior high school, secondary or special teaching license (excluding Business and Industry and Special Qualifications) and complete:

12 semester credits which must include the following:

1. Methods for teaching the use of a computer or educational issues in the teaching of computers, or both; and
2. Methods for teaching computer programming; and
3. Instruction in at least 2 computer languages.
