To receive an endorsement to teach computer applications a person must have a valid elementary, secondary or special license and complete:

12 semester hours in courses of study which include the following:

1. Educational issues relating to computers; and
2. Methods for teaching the integration of technology with curriculum; and
3. Methods for teaching computer applications or instruction in at least 3 of the following software application packages:
   1. Productivity tools such as word processing, databases and spreadsheets;
   2. Communication tools;
   3. Research tools;
   4. Multimedia tools; or
   5. Other applications approved by the board.
