Literacy Program Area Goals for 2009-2010

  1. Develop Rubric and evaluation system for culminating experience
  2. Revise Masters courses for handbook
  3. Hire existing line positions (1 open rank; 1 FIR)
  4. Recruit support for Library Science program
  5. Establish platforms for theoretical dialogue among faculty and doctoral students
  6. Discuss equity issues in teaching doctoral classes, class loads etc.
  7. Develop course schedule for doctoral classes, Masters concentrations
  8. Obtain funding for future projects:
    1. Endowed Chair in Literacy
    2. Literacy Development Center
    3. Children’s Literature Conference
    4. SNLC Professional Development Workshops
    5. Travel grants for doc students
